Thank you Dr Feinstein for taken such great care of my family., you will always be missed but never forgotten., It’s so hard to fine a Great Dermatologist like you ., saving my husbands feet ., my mothers skin , my children’s and myself 😢😢😢‼️we all have different doctors now but none like you., SEE YOU IN HEAVEN ♥️♥️♥️

Dear Daria. I don't know if you remember me. I believe so. It's a very sad for me to know that Richard passed away 😢.  I just find out trying to locate him. Not knowing if he was still practicing at Mercy.
I am very sorry. Juan as well passed away and my brother Jorge.

Un doctor excepcional…viajaba desde Panamá solo para atenderme con el…mi acné que nadie me atendía en mi país el me dejó hermosa…tengo el mejor recuerdo en vida de mi Dr Feinstein…que Dios lo tenga en Su Gloria y que brille para él la luz eterna…

My husband and I met Richard because Joel’s medical office was in the same Professional Bldg. at Mercy Hospital  as Richard’s dermatology office.  I came to know Daria because she also worked at Mount Sinai Medical Center as I did in the 1980’s. Fond memories flooded in when I heard from a mutual friend that Richard passed away. Joel and I were just at their home a few weeks ago when we had an opportunity to sit, chat and reminisce with Rich about all our shared memories as friends.  There were all the parties and dinners at the Feinsteins where we delighted in the company of many mutual friends.  Richard and Daria were there when Joel and I got married in 1983; Daria was my maid of honor. We were awed by all of Richard’s accomplishments: his appointment as Chair of the Florida Board of Medicine, his articles published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, and his book about his experiences on the Navajo reservation.  He and Daria were regulars at our Rosh Hashanah and Passover celebrations. Richard was enormously proud of their daughters Rachel and Lisa.  He was always sharing with us the latest stories about their achievements and about their grandchildren.  Richard was a loving husband and father, as well as a kind and generous friend. We will miss him dearly.  

Rich and I worked together for a year on the Navajo reservation as physicians in Chinle. Rich was a year ahead of me and mentored my adaptation to providing care to a very needy population. He always went out of his way to provide care in a culturally compassionate manner. Rich and I played Navajo basketball (team was the Medicine Men) which was an avid activity with driving to games and tournaments sometimes far away with our getting home at 2-3 AM. Rich and I kept modestly in touch an he and Daria shared several dinners in Miami when I might be there for a meeting   After seeing Basketball or Nothing  on Netflix I sent him an email 3 weeks ago but hadn’t heard back. Rich was always a curious physician who sought the literature to address patient complaints in Chinle and I am sure in Miami   He will clearly be missed but will live on in many of my memories of our time together.

We all will miss an exceptional person and doctor. I have known Rich over 50 years as a friend from medical college. We started in residency together and I knew him  as an exceptional physician who was respected and relied upon from the state level to local organizations.  His dedication to his family and his profession were exemplary . He was compassionate and kind. . I was lucky to have him in my life. Bill Dobes
