My dad, Bob Swanson, and my mom, Margie, went to the University of Florida at the same time Ray was there. I remember hearing stories about the Tampa Bananas. My parents talked about Ray, Sindo Carbonell, and Ferdie Pacheco. My dad was the only one not going into the medical field. 
My dad and mom firmly believed that Ray prolonged my dad’s life by trying a unique treatment for his severe and disabling rheumatoid arthritis. He had him go for plasmapheresis treatments at South Miami Hospital. 
He was a good friend to my dad from their UF days until my dad died in 1982.  Such a smart, kind, and compassionate man. And, a good friend to my dad through the years.

Dr. Lopez was my doctor for many years. He was a wonderful doctor as well as being kind and compassionate. He will be sorely missed. Condolences to his family. Dr. Lopez was a true gentleman.
