PHILIP E. ZELMAN

Phil left us on August 23, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born December 14, 1951 in Queens, New York. He spent his early years in Franklin Square, later graduating from the College of Insurance in New York City in 1974. It was in New York City where he met the love of his life, Lucy, in 1969. After pursuing her they fell in love and married in 1973. Shortly after the birth of their eldest, they moved to Miami in 1978; where, in 1980, they welcomed the birth of their twins.

After spending time in the restaurant business, he returned to the insurance industry in 1986. He was the President of NCF Insurance Associates for over 23 years. During his time in the insurance industry, he earned numerous awards and was honored to serve in several advisory roles.

Predeceased by his parents, Stanley & Lyla Zelman and Emanuel & Betty Fischer, he is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lucy, his children, Jessica (Michael) Ben-Hain, Mitchel, and Joshua, and his eight grandchildren, Elliana, Taliah, Lily, DayleiRhaye, Izabella, Fischer, Zoë, & Shoshana, his sister, Elyn (Barry) Rosenthal, his brother, Jack (Valerie) Fischer, and his sister, Elizabeth Fischer. He is also survived by the Coll Family, Audrey (Victor), Dani (Alex), Keith, and Ali (Fausto).

Phil’s life will be celebrated Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Bet Shira Congregation, 7500 SW 120th Street, Pinecrest, Florida. Graveside services will immediately follow at Mount Nebo/Kendall Memorial Gardens, 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida.
