Mary Ellen Hughes was born in Chicago on August 6, 1941 and departed this life after a short illness on April 7, 2019. Mary Ellen studied in Europe and earned a PhD in Education at the University of Navarre, Spain. She taught Romance languages and Latin at the high school level and spoke five languages. Since 2002 she lived in Key Biscayne, where she established a tutoring business, as well as being active in the Respect Life ministry and Adoration ministry of St. Agnes Parish. Mary Ellen was the daughter of Earl and Marion Hughes, and the sister of the late Owen Hughes. She is mourned by her devoted sister Clare and by countless friends whose lives she brightened and blessed.
