Marta Teresa Cedeño, the sweetest person in the world, passed away after a long, happy life on January 3rd, 2024. She passed peacefully at home in the presence of her adoring family. Marta was one hundred years young.
Born on May 13th, 1923, Marta was the seventh and youngest daughter of Estela Amanda De La Penha--known as Adelina as a child. Granddaughter of Alfredo De La Penha and Carmen Williams.
Marta lived in Costa Rica and in the Republic of Panama where she was the proprietor of La Fabulosa--a clothing and novelty retail store. Her favorite color was green; favorite Psalms are number 23, 27, and 91—the same as her mother; favorite flower, hydrangeas.
Marta was a beautiful kindhearted person that spread joy wherever she went. She was loved by all who met her. Famous, in her family circle, for her potato salad. She is survived by six of her seven children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Above all things in life, Marta loved her family and friends. How much she will be missed is beyond the scope of this passage, but we thank the good Lord, we had her for as long as we did. She has given all of us lasting memories that will remain alive forever in our hearts.
We love you. We love you. We love you!
A Celebration of Life service to honor Marta Teresa Cedeño will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33135, from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am.
