Margarita Lima

Margarita Lima, age 77, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday May 21, 2018. Margarita was born on February 22, 1941 in Havana, Cuba to Ofelia and Felix Lima. She excelled in writing and stenography in school. While attending the University of Havana, she met fellow student Jose Antonio Penichet in 1958. They married in 1959 and left Cuba leaving all their family behind to begin a better life together in New York. After giving birth to her first daughter, her first daughter's name which is also Margarita in 1963, Margarita and her husband moved to Miami to be with family. In 1966, Margarita’s second daughter, Ivonne was born. After running a small Cuban coffee shop for several years, Margarita and her husband moved to California where their third daughter, Monica, was born in 1973. In California, they started a retail/wholesale imports business, España Imports. Her tenacious attention to detail and tireless work ethic will be remembered, along with her love of music and dance.

Margarita is survived by her brother Juan Lima, wife Charlotte and their daughter Erin and her children Olivia and Evan; then by her daughter, Margarita Penichet Orsi, husband Aldo, and their two children Isabella and Giuliano; daughter Ivonne Penichet, husband Oscar Khaw, and their three children Kaley and Ivan and Amanda Rodriguez, with husband Bryan and their son Bastian; daughter Monica Penichet-Coates, husband Chris and their three daughters Mia, Lauren, and Ava. Additionally her nieces Ana Maria Wing and her husband Chris, their children, Jaime, James, Christopher and daughter, Krystal, her husband Andrew and their daughter Anabelle; Marite Mas Messina and her children, Maiya and Frank.

Margarita Lima will be at rest at the Caballero cemetery which is located in Little Havana, Miami Florida. A visitation for Margarita will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8TH ST, MIAMI, FL 33135. An entombment will occur Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Woodlawn Park North, 3260 SW 8 Street, Miami, Florida 33135.
