HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS TWO DAUGHTERS: ROCHELLE KINNER, SUSAN ADAMS
THREE GRANDSONS: ZACH RODDENBERRY, JONAS RODDENBERRY & ROSS ADAMS AND
TWO GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: ELOISE & ROWAN.
HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE ROSE FREEDMAN.
MICKEY WAS BORN IN LONDON, ENGLAND, THE SON OF ALFRED AND NANCY FREEDMAN, HE IMMIGRATED
TO ELLIS ISLAND,NEW YORK, AND LATER MOVED TO SOUTH FLORIDA.
IN HIS EARLY YEARS, MICKEY HELPED THE FAMILY'S UPHOLSTERY BUSINESS, "ALFRED OF LONDON AND SON", WHERE HE DEVELOPED HIS TRADE. HE GAINED MANY SKILLS FROM THIS BUSINESS INCLUDING: STRONG PLANNING; ATTENTION TO DETAIL, AND HIS ENTREPRENEURIAL DRIVE.
AFTER NEW YORK, MICKEY FOLLOWED HIS MOTHER AND FATHER TO MIAMI WHERE HE OPENED HIS STORE IN THE FAMOUS DESIGN DISTRICT. MICKEY WAS SO PROUD OF THIS BUSINESS AS HE ALWAYS RECALLED HIS OPPORTUNITIES WITH SINGER FRANK SINATRA, FOUNTAINBLU HOTEL, AND MANY TRIPS TO THE BAHAMAS.
MICKEY NEVER STAYED STILL AND ALWAYS STROVE TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY. ONE DAY HE HAD THE IDEA TO OPEN A PIZZA FRANCHISE IN LONDON, ENGLAND AND PROVIDE PRE-MADE PIZZA TO FISH AND CHIP SHOPS. HERE MICKEY TOOK HIS IDEA AND DEVELOPED AN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CALLED "ALL AMERICAN NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA". MICKEY WAS SO PROUD OF THIS BUSINESS AND ALWAYS SHARED HIS KEYS TO SUCCESS WITH HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
AFTER HIS PIZZA BUSINESS, MICKEY RETURNED TO MIAMI WHERE HE CONTINUED HIS ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT. HIS OTHER BUSINESSES INCLUDED: PHOTOGRAPHY; PRIVATE DETECTIVE; GUN AND COIN TRADER; AND EVEN SOLD HONEY FOR THE LION'S CLUB OBTAINING EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO USE OF THEIR ICONIC CONTAINER.
WHEN MOST PEOPLE ARE ABOUT TO RETIRE IN THEIR SIXTIES, MICKEY CREATED "GO INTERNATIONAL" AND FILLED SEVEN PASSPORTS DELIVERING KEY MATERIALS TO OIL FIELDS ALL OVER SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA. BY FAR HIS FAVORITE OPPORTUNITY, MICKEY'S STORIES WERE ALWAYS CAPTIVATING.
MICKEY HAD A PASSION FOR HUNTING, FISHING, COIN COLLECTING, DANCING , AND CONSTRUCTING THINGS WITH HIS HANDS. MICKEY EVEN BUILT A 14 FEET WOODEN SAILBOAT WHERE HE TAUGHT HIS GRANDSONS HOW TO SAIL AND MAINTAIN THE BOAT. HE WAS ALWAYS THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX AND USED HIS AVAILABLE TOOLS TO SOLVE ANY PROBLEMS. WHEN MICKEY WAS IN HIS EARLY 90's, HE JOINED THE POTTERY CLUB AND WOULD MAKE MANY DIFFERENT BEAUTIFUL OBJECTS AND GIFT THEM TO HIS CLOSE FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
AN AVID SOCIALIZER, MICKEY CARRIED AROUND HIS ROLODEX EVERYWHERE HE WENT. MICKEY ALSO WAS A PROUD 65 YEAR BROTHER MASON, LION'S CLUB MEMBER, AND NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEMBER.
CHAPEL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 13, 2017 AT 11:30 AM AT LAKESIDE MEMORIAL PARK & FUNERAL CHAPEL, DORAL, FLORIDA, 10301 NW 25th STREET MIAMI FLORIDA 33172.
