Herman Teitler

Herman M. Teitler 92, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015, in the arms of his loving children. He was born February 12, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, to Jennie and Isadore Teitler. He was the youngest of six children; the brother of Al, Manny, Jack, Bea, and Jesse. He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II with the 61st Signal Battalion, stationed in England, France, and Germany. He served in the Rhineland Central Europe Campaign, and received medals for serving in both the European, African, Middle Eastern and the American Campaigns. In 2012, he was awarded the Legion of Honor medal from the French government, that country's oldest and highest honor, for his service in the liberation of France. He moved with his parents to Miami in 1946 and joined his brother Jack at Printing Arts, Co. Eventually four Teitler brothers, Jack, Al, Jesse and Herman ran Printing Arts together and it grew to be one of the largest and most respected commercial printing companies in Dade County. He met Edythe Buchman, the love of his life, in 1949, and they married in 1950. They resided in Coral Gables, FL, and had three loving children; Judy, Robert (Marlene) and Jenifer (Robert). Together they made a home of incredible love and nurturing. Sadly Edythe passed away in 1980. He is survived by his children and five adoring grandchildren who were the center of his universe. Zach (Victoria), Eliza, Jason, Evan, and Eric, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, to whom he was a role model on how to be a mensch and how to live life with great humor and optimism. The family expressed its heartfelt thanks to his many friends at the Palms of Weston, Five Star Residences of Plantation, and the wonderful doctors and incredible staff of the Cleveland Clinic. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel/Kendall 5900 SW 77 avenue, Miami, FL 33143.
