My mother, Gloria Kolikof, was an amazing person. She died yesterday, March 29, at the age of 85. She and my dad, Bob Kolikof, shared a life together, as husband and wife, for 66 years. From the time I was born, she showered her love on me. She was my best friend. She was my support. No one had my back like she did. We will always love her and will miss her, endlessly. Those who knew her admired her loving kindness. She was beautiful in every way.
Gloria graduated from Massachusetts College of Art, and always had an incredible sense of color and design. She was also a talented artist. When younger, she had a professional singing career. She and my dad enjoyed traveling all over the world, and had the most fantastic stories to share. She was a Pine Brook Country Club golf champion, two times. Gloria had five holes in one! She was an avid Master bridge player. She was philanthropic on many levels. Boston, Massachusetts was her hometown, and Aventura, Florida was equally enjoyed. She had a full life, and for that, we’re grateful.
Her husband, Bob Kolikof and daughter, Donna Kolikof and Gloria’s brother, Raymond Block, survive her. All three of her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jill and Adam, will greatly miss the love from their “GG”. Her great grandchildren, Sadie, Nora, Violet, Zachary, and Mason loved her very much…
We were blessed to have had this elegant, gracious and loving woman in our lives, and she will be greatly missed… being forever in our hearts.
There will be a graveside service at Mt. Nebo Memorial Gardens, in Kendall, on Friday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, at the University of Miami.
