A native of Matanzas, Cuba, she had lived in Miami, FL since 1978. Nena is survived by her brother Luis (Delia), her children Gloria Maria (Hal), Zeke (Peter), and Sandra; her grandsons Alexander (Christina) and David (Rachel); and her great-grandson Lucas. Nena graduated from the University of Havana with a degree in Pharmacy. She married the love of her life, Ezequiel, in 1958 and briefly lived in Spain where her husband finished medical school after the University of Havana was closed. The family emigrated to the United States in 1959 and lived in Missouri and Georgia before settling in Miami. A devout Catholic and faithful daughter of Christ, Nena’s soul radiated. She was beautiful, elegant, selfless, generous, intelligent, and witty. Her zest for life was infectious and she leaves all those who knew her with beautiful memories.
Funeral services will take place at St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church, 3475 SW 17th St, Miami, FL. Family will receive condolences from 11am. The Funeral Mass begins at 11:30am.
