Gladys Lagomacini Rosado, 87, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016 in Miami, Florida. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on December 28, 1928, she was the only daughter of Ramona Olivera and Francisco Lagomacini. She spent her early life in Puerto Rico where she married her childhood sweetheart, Ruben Rosado Quinones, in 1949. She lived at various U.S. Army bases in Germany and the United States throughout her husband’s long military career. Upon his retirement, they returned to their native Puerto Rico until their relocation to Miami, Florida to be close to their sons in their later years.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and husband. She is survived by her three sons, Ruben Arnaldo Rosado (Diana M. Rosado), Juan Rosado (Mildred Rosado) and José Luis Rosado (Silvia Sepulveda); ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She touched many lives through the years and will be missed by family and friends, who will always remember her as a proud and beautiful woman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caretakers who made her later years joyful and comfortable, Amparo, Cookie and Candida, and all the amazing VITAS medical personnel.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30th, at the Caballero Rivero Sunset Funeral Home, 7355 SW 117th Avenue, Miami, FL (305-728-3900). Services will be held at the same location at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 1st. Burial will be immediately following the services at the Caballero Rivero Dade South Cemetery, 14200 SW 117 Avenue, Miami, FL
