Evelio came from Cuba in the mid 1950’s and moved to Brooklyn, New York where he fulfilled his dreams of raising a family and started his life long business as a barber shop owner in Brooklyn Heights, New York.
Upon retiring and selling his business, Evelio and his wife relocated to sunny Miami, Florida. They took pride in their home and garden, spending countless hours tending to their avocado, mango, banana and other fruit bearing trees.
Evelio joined a local senior citizen club and played dominoes on a daily basis becoming notorious as the dominoes champion. He always enjoyed listening to Cuban Punto Guajiro Music and even played the guitar during his younger years. If the opportunity arose, he would not hesitate to take a leisurely swim in the pool.
Although Evelio was a man of few words, his presence was always made known when he entered a room because he wore colognes that were pleasantly fragrant.
He was always up for a challenge and would not hesitate to show you his strength by extending a hand shake with an extraordinary firm grip.
Evelio was a devoted family man who always enjoyed spending quality time with his children. He loved his wife very much and since her passing he has yearned to be reunited with her.
A visitation for Evelio will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135.
