Ermes attended Dunbar elementary, Robert E. Lee Middle and graduated in 1983 from Miami Jackson Senior High. Ermes was a four-year starter on the boys’ basketball team. He later attended Miami Dade College and Barry University where he continued playing his favorite sport of basketball.
After college, Ermes explored diverse employment opportunities. He worked for many years in the warehouse and security industry. Even as his health continued to decline, he maintained his strong work ethics until his retirement in December 2020.
Ermes was a private person who loved his family, and his two sons were his pride and joy. He shared with them his love of basketball and always motivated them to excel in life. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Ermes managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. He was always ready to help and ended every conversation with “call me if you need anything”.
On Friday April 29, 2022, Ermes transitioned peacefully to his eternal home.
