I was a driver for mr ross in 2003 they call me lady dee i remeber i hurt my hand and got 32 strict and still mad my delivery  he rasie me fr25% to 28 % it made me fell like family to no they cared an when my dauther was muder they found me  they are good people love them all

Derrick Ross was such a important piece of my childhood. The  things I will remember most is his unmatched record collection that he played till all hours of the morning where I learned some real vintage reggae. 
His passion and ability to always have a good time and live life to the fullest. 
But most importantly his unconditional love for my children. 
The memories I have of him are to many to list but some of my favorite are, 
The time I had to baracade him out of the bedroom when Trayton was crying at night, While grandad sat on the couch crying and telling me I was torturing Him and that he was starving. 
The many road trips we took together driving all night long blasting fabulous five cds to keep us awake. 
The many parties he took Derrick, Jen , Leighton and I too where We learned to be come professional Limers. 
The salt fish fritters that you would make on the weekend and how you would always make separate pots of stew peas so all of us non pork eaters could enjoy your cooking. 
I will always remember my time with you you have left behind a huge legacy of children , grandchildren, and great grandchildren and one thing is for sure you lived a happy life Granddad you will be missed.

My deepest sympathy and condolences at this time.   Derrick you’ll be deeply missed. You were like a brother to me.   So many memories. This man was truly a family man. He had a very loving and warm spirit.   Always joking. He had a keen sense of humor. He reminded me so much of my dad especially when he called  me Denny. My best memory is  of us being around the trucks Whenever I would stop in Miami he would shout me...Hey Denny hold on don’t go anywhere... and he would come and meet me to go have lunch and sit and talk about trucks. Derrick nuff love.   Say hello to my dad and the rest of the family.   You’re in God’s hand. We will carry on from here.

Ann Marie Longbridge AKA, Dee Dee. 

I remember the first time I met Derrick, it was back in Jamaica in 1972 or 1973, Derrick and Yvonne came to Jamaica on vacation, they drove a big red car with white leather seats I think it was a Buick Skylark. Back in those days when you have a car like that parked at your gate you feel important. There was about 7 children in our household at the time and Derrick took everyone in the car and take us to his sister Marjorie’s house where we had a ball with Celia and Olivia. After he took us back home there came the ice cream truck and he bought everyone a ice cream cone and let me tell you we felt like Royalty In the neighborhood.  He made us kids feel extra special every time he came around. When I became an adult I had the pleasure of visiting his home here in Florida in 1999 and the hospitality was superb, I could not ask for a better host, he makes you feel welcome in his home. Tell Derrick you need a job and he’ll call everyone he knows to find you one and best believe he’s gonna find you that job. Derrick’s contact list was like the yellow pages he was a people’s person, a man with a huge heart, a man with a great personality and a man that will go to the end of the earth for you. I miss him till it hurts.  Rest In Peace my dear uncle.💔

Derrick will deeply miss. It’s always a pleasure when Derek come around and he is like Bibby, that’s my pet name that he always call me, asking me for the drink.no one to me like my cousin Derrick. When I’m at work and I hear that he is in town visiting his uncle,my dad. I try my best to rush home to see him. I know you are in a better place now with god and others. (I know when you see my dad he’s going to ask you why you took so long to come and see him he was waiting for you, now you and him can sit and talk about the trucks in the moving and the other things that y’all used to talk about. To miss P the suns and the grands keep the faith and just know that he is in a better place no more pain. We will miss you, and we love ❤️ You.

Mr Derrick Ross SR was a kind, sincere gentleman who had a great sense of humor.
He was so down to earth and welcoming that I felt like a member of his family although we are not related.
This is a great loss for his wife and all of his loving family members. 
As you mourn please take comfort and assurance in God’s promise of a future without tears, sickness, pain or death as the Bible at Revelation chapter 21 verse 3-4 shows
I hope you will also find some comfort in the cherished memories shared with a gentleman who had a huge heart and a big smile Mr Derrick Ross SR.
