Mr. Otero was my english teacher back in 4th grade, hearing about this as of November 12, 2023 is a heart breaker. This man taught me basic essay structure and I wouldn’t be where I am without him! Sad to see I couldnt say goodbye. Rest in peace to my teacher 💔

There’s not a lot of people that have the capacity to change your life like Mr. Otero did. His eternal kindness, hope, faith, and love leave lasting effects on anyone lucky enough to have come across him- whether in school, the grocery store, church, or anywhere else. More than anything, his family and their kindness and love only emphasize the amazing person he was, and will always continue to be. I can only hope to honor both him and his family for the rest of my life. Sending infinite love and prayers to his entire family, may God guide you through this tough time.

This is a moment of deep pain for those of us who had the opportunity to meet Danny, He has a special gifts who have come to light up the life of others.
My Children and I will always remember  him as a pleasant and lovely human being, His generosity, special charisma  and his compassion will remain the memory  of us, He will continue to guide everyone's life and will be an inspiration  to many of those who had the privilege to meet him.
I am enormously  thankful for the support, he provided to my children.

God just received an angel that illuminated so many. He was an amazing teacher and human being. My son had the privilege to be taught by Mr. Otero in 2010-2011. His knowledge and caring character will forever be remembered. He will always be in our hearts. My condolence to the family. 

Mr. Otero you were the best teacher.  And will always be my favorite teacher. Thank you for making me smarter. Rip.  

We are sending  so much love to Danny’s family.  We went to Calusa together when we were little and then lucky enough for my kids to have Danny as a teacher.  Kai had Mr. Otero for 4th and 5th grade and he taught Kayla in the after school reading program.  Till this day Kai says Mr. Otero is my favorite teacher.  We wrote him at the end of each school year and just figured we would be keeping in touch till college days.  We thanked him for being such a special part of Kai’s story and now see how lucky we all were to have Mr. Otero as part of all our stories. I think the entire Kendall community is heartbroken. He was such a big part of it. We will never forget him and so happy to of known such an amazing human being. He was an angel on earth and now in heaven. 

Mr Otero was an incredible person and an amazing teacher . He will truly be missed ! My son Jake always said Mr. Otero was my favorite teacher . My condolences to his family . May he Rest In Peace and heaven has truly earned a new angel .

Estamos muy tristes por lo que ha pasado, ha golpeado a nuestros corazones el saber que un miembro querido de nuestra familia ha partido, pero sabemos que debemos ser fuertes y seguir adelante. Nuestro sentimiento de profundo pesar y de apoyo querida prima Gaby a ti y a toda tu hermosa familia, están en nuestros corazones y en nuestros pensamientos. Los queremos mucho.

Mr Otero was an amazing man.
       I work at Calusa  for 6 years, in those years I was able to see  how much he loved teaching and the care he showed for all he's students.
     Mr Otero was loved  by everyone, he always had a smile on his face and always say hello as you walk by.  
     Remember when he was teaching the students Karate! And  could see  how proud he felt seeing them learn. 

   He loved his family very much!!  
I rememberr one time asking about how Sofi was doing at school! And right away got he's cell to show me a picture  to see how big and beautiful she was.
  
   Mr Otero,  you will truly be missed by everyone that knew you.  My love and deepest condolences to the Otero family. 

Danny really was a great man, he has touched so many lives and deeply cared for all the children at Calusa. He really loved what he did and did it all for the children. When my daughter Ola was falling behind on reading, Danny reached out to us and had us join his after school tutoring sessions that he did on his own time. Also, he helped Ola join the Safety Patrol and I know he helped so many children and their parents do better in school. He was always outgoing and active with the kids and I always saw how much the kids loved him in the Halloween nights at Calusa. 
I have known Danny since he was in college and only have good memories of him. Always outgoing, positive, and very magnetic. 
My condolences to Gabby, Sofia, Liana, and his entire family. My family is here for you if you ever need anything. Please feel free to reach out.

Our daughter Angelica was a student of Mr. Otero for 4th and 5th grade from 2013 to 2015. We knew only after a few months of being in Mr. Otero’s class that she was extremely lucky to have him as her teacher. He really loved what he did and took the time to care about each and every student in his class. If I reached out to him, he always responded with with a kind word and answers to my questions. I remember Halloween each year and how he tried to make it fun for all the kids. I did volunteer two years at his booth and enjoyed every minute of it. Angelica started to learn karate from Mr. Otero when he taught classes after school at Calusa Elementary. We feel totally blessed to have known Mr. Otero and we also know that Angelica is the amazing and caring student because she was taught by Mr. Otero. It is with a heavy heart that we say “good-bye” to Mr, Otero, but he will always be in our hearts. Rest In Peace Mr. Otero. 😢🙏
