Clara Aurora Delgado, age 100, of Santa Clara, Cuba, passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2023 in Jacksonville, FL. Clara was the matriarch of her family, lovingly nicknamed Tita and Mama, and is survived by her two children William J. Delgado (Alina) and Mariazell Arias (Armando); grandchildren Suzanne Delgado (Stacey), Christine Delgado Acosta, Michael Marquez (Vanessa), Michelle Marquez, Ailil Graupera (George), William A. Delgado (Lindsay), Anel Brito, and Melissa Comunale (T.J.); and great-grandchildren Zachary, Austin, Matthew, Isabella, Adrian, Grayson, Owen, Natalia, Jackson, Alexander, Christian, and Juliette. Clara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful friend to all. In Cuba, Clara worked as a kindergarten school teacher and owned a children’s clothing store, La Infancia, before immigrating to the United States in 1964 alongside her late husband Jorge F. Delgado. Clara’s favorite pastimes included dancing, traveling, playing Pokeno, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. She lived an amazing, long life and will be sorely missed. Her legacy will live on in all of us, and we are at peace knowing she is now in the Lord’s presence.
A visitation for Clara will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, FL 33186. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church, 12125 SW 107 Ave, Miami, FL 33176
