Carlos Noel Gonzalez was born on April 16, 1952, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Pelayo Gonzalez and Benita Lidia Valdez. Carlos was raised primarily by his father and stepmother, Candida Gonzalez. Carlos was especially close to his father, who taught him the importance of hard work, entrepreneurship, and loyalty to family. There was also an amazing bond between Carlos and his brothers Luis Noel and Puro Noel. Throughout their lives, the three brothers were inseparable and talked to each other almost every day.
In 1965, Carlos immigrated to the United States and joined his father in Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated from high school. In New York, he married Eduviges Sandoval who was from Guanabano, Dominican Republic, and the couple had two children: Carlos Pelayo and Carmen Marcela. In 1981, Carlos and Eduviges moved their family to Miami, where Carlos worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He also enjoyed exercise and fitness, and worked as a certified personal trainer and security guard. Wherever he worked, Carlos was known for counseling and motivating his clients and co-workers to be the best people they could be.
Carlos was extremely loving and devoted to his family and friends. He loved to host backyard parties at his home on the weekends and holidays, where there was plenty of eating, drinking, merengue, bachata, salsa, and dancing. Carlos was known for keeping in touch with his relatives both in the United States and Dominican Republic. He adored his home country, and would travel there whenever possible to visit family and friends. He loved it so much, he had no desire to vacation anywhere else! Carlos was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, and loved posting their pictures and accomplishments on Facebook.
Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Pelayo Gonzalez; his stepmother, Candida Gonzalez; and his brother, Puro Noel Gonzalez.
Carlos leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his wife, Eduviges Sandoval of Miami; his mother, Benita Lidia Valdez of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; two children, Carlos Pelayo Gonzalez (Ruth) and Carmen Marcela Moffett (Marlon), both of Miami; nine siblings, Luis Noel Gonzalez of New York, Juana Gonzalez of Florida, Olga Gonzalez, Flora Gonzalez, Nestor Bussi, Francisco Antonio Bussi, Julia Altagracia Bussi, and Nelson Bussi of Dominican Republic, and Luis Pascual Bussi of Miami; five grandchildren, Allison Aaliyah Gonzalez, Carlos Jordan Gonzalez, Daniel Joshua Gonzalez, Mya Victoria Moffett, and Marlon Noel Moffett; and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends, and other relatives, including his devoted cousin, Ramon “Ray” Oscar Gonzalez.
