I had the privilege to know Andrew as an eighth grader while working at the school and helping to coach his basketball team.  He was never one to complain, no matter what the situation was.  Andrew had a great attitude! To Mr.  and Mrs. Santana along with Adam, my heart goes out to
you.  To the rest of the varsity basketball team,  you all had an awesome teammate but more important a friend. 

May all who knew him be blessed by his presence.

I worked on a house with Andrew.  Andrew always kept the team smiling and cheerful with his bright personality, big smile and soft and honest sense of humor. 
Andrew always looked beyond the face of a problem with patience and clever means to solve whatever came his way.  On a construction site, you rarely find men like Andrew. Every time a see a blue pickup truck i think of Andrew.

 I wish I got to see him shine and grow into the amazing man he was on track to becoming. We love you Andrew! Much love, always and forever!!

Andrew was my childhood neighbor.  I just heard the news and I immediately thought of my childhood days going over Andrew and Adam’s house to play, and I still vividly remember playing touch football in their backyard— it was me and Adam vs. Andrew and their dad. That memory will live in my head forever. I hope Andrew is resting in peace and I’ll pray for the Santana family.

Those of us who had the honor and pleasure of participating in the Body Fat Challenge with Andrew are totally heartbroken. We remember him for his positive energy, kindness and competitive spirit -- for his dedication to his family, and for his love of participating and competing with us every two years in the BFC. Andrew was always cheering on and taunting each of us to work harder, have fun and become the best version of ourselves. He took such pleasure in being a part of it along with his dad.  He was a "Man of the BFC" since he was a teenager and was the de-facto leader of the younger generation of participants. He leaves a tremendous void that can never be filled. Our deepest condolences to the Santana-Herran families -- to Ernie, we love you brother. You have always been our rock, but we are here to help in any way we can. 



I am so heartbroken over this loss.  One of the best parts of being a teacher were the students.  Andrew's class was the very first class I taught - and it was a pleasant surprise. I was so scared of meeting these 36 kids, but they ended up being my favorite class. I met these 14-year-olds as a 21-Year-old first-time religion teacher and boy did they change my life.  I can clearly remember hearing Andrew's "Hey Ms. P!" every morning as he stepped into homeroom and "MS P!!!!!!!" throughout the day in the Hallways of St. Brendan! From his giggles and smiles throughout class time and telling me jokes, practicing for the stations of the cross, going through confirmation, and retelling me stories with his friends (Matthew, Joseph, Danny, and Alex - just to name a few) - these tender memories will stay with me forever.  My heart, prayers, and well wishes are with you. 

I remember one of the hardest things Adam & I had to do was keep from ruining the whole Christmas Santa Claus being real charade …. 

When I hear the word “family” It’s almost impossible for me not to immediately think of Andrew. The first two names & faces that involuntarily flash into my mind are Adam & Andrew. 
Every Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, family gathering  at La Finca, wedding, birthday party, any & all family events, the only thing I cared about was “are Adam & Andrew going?” I’m 33 now & it’s been a while since those days where every branch of the family went with all its members to the same holiday party, but till this day the first thing I ask my mom is if “Adam & Andrew are going to be there”.  
Never did it even occur to me that I wouldn’t have to ask that question. I am so proud of the man andrew had become. I can’t understand how  or why I will never get the chance to celebrate one of his accomplishments with him, nor why he won’t be there  to show me his love & support like he always did even after long periods of time we spent out of touch. The bond we had as cousins was real & it was imposible to break or weaken.  That’s not something that you normally have with just anyone  & it is something I treasure. His absence is going to be profoundly felt for probably every day of the rest of my life.
To Magalys, Ernie,  & Adam, I just want to say that I truly appreciate all the memories we created together. All the sleepovers, all the games, all the power rangers marathons, all the “please one more night’s”,  all the fights ‘n all their make-ups…. The four of you composed a major part of my childhood & contributed  enormously to it being as amazing & as blessed as it was. Thank You.  My heart is with you. I can only imagine  the magnitude  of the pain & confusion this must be causing & can only offer my unconditional love & support. I’m so very sorry.

Several years ago we had lost a childhood friend and classmate, Daniela Tavarez. Despite what we were all going through, Andrew made it a point to stop by my house after the funeral mass and burial service. Out of the stress of losing my childhood friend, I jumped in the pool with clothes on (it was a rainy day) and shortly then after, everyone started jumping into the pool (with their clothes on).  Andrew then asked me … “can I borrow some clothes to jump in” and I said “Ofcourse” ( hence the pajama pants… ). I want to thank Andrew for being there. I want to thank him for the years throughout our childhood … as he was always so kind, so loving, and  everyone’s childhood crush. I could only imagine the pain you are feeling but remember, this is not a goodbye it’s a see you later. On behalf of the class of 2007 (St. Brendan Elementary), I send you our upmost thoughts and condolences.

My deepest condolences for the Santana family. Its inconceivable the loss you are all experiencing. Andrew was such a joy to have known and grown up with. I recall fondly so many wonderful moments growing up together. Although life took us in different directions, I always cared deeply for Andrew and wished him all the best. This past year we  caught up and I was so happy to reconnect.

Our hearts hurt for the Santana Family. Andrew was a sweet soul, always a smile on his face, and such a loving heart. We have known him since elementary school at St. Brendan’s and have many fond memories from vacations to school activities, social events, and summers at the beach. Our son, Danny, was one of his closest friends growing up. Danny as well as the rest of our family will never forget him. He was, like we would always tell Maggie, the “sweetest” of all the boys. Our primo Andrew was full of life.  My favorite memory of him was just a few weeks ago. He was recently at our home, he attended the Formula 1 race with Gaby, Guille, and Michael. Andrew’s favorite driver was Hamilton. Before and after the race Andrew hung out in our home. We had dinner, sports grill chicken wings and cheese fries. We laughed uncontrollably,  he played tag with his little cousins Alex and Christian and chased them around the kitchen island. He hit some golf balls on the putting green with Gaby and the boys and quizzed me on my F1 knowledge.  We made future plans for dinners and pool parties. He was so proud of his home and wanted to show us all of  his hard work. We will miss his smile, his laugh, awesome hair (he was very proud of that), and our Instagram chats.  We will never forget you Primo! We love you and miss you dearly. Know that you made us all proud. Maggie, Ernie, Adam, Tia Nyria, Tino, Rosie and the girls, we are with you . My heart aches for the entire family. We will never be the same without you.

Similar as our sons age it was awesome watching Andrew Interact with everyone. Never meeting a stranger.   Over the years, watching his escapades on Facebook and Instagram was such a treat.   

Missed but not Forgotten.   

My beautiful little cousin brought me so much joy and laughter.   From his “oigo” on the phone  to his “good morning beautiful.” I feel blessed for the time we spent together.  He graced our home with a visit just recently. Our boys and our dogs got to meet his puppy Rip.   We had a great dinner, brisket and all.  My heart aches for Maggie, Ernie, Adam and all who truly loved him.   May our Lord Jesus bring you peace soon.  

To know Andrew is to truly love him. There’s no other way I can describe it. A young, very bright, and humbled soul with so much promise. His innocence and smile lit up the hearts of everyone around him, mine included. He was someone special with his handsome smile and childlike humor. I will miss our daily good mornings and hearing his latest new puppy story. Andrew was extremely kind hearted and full of promise. All I saw was someone who wanted love, to prove himself, and become someone you can be proud of. He did it all with love in his heart and smile on his face. I, for one, was very proud of him. Our family not only lost a loved one but the world truly lost a great human being. Even though our time together was short, I will always value it and keep him in my prayers. My deepest condolences to my cousin Maggie and Ernie, Adam, our family, and friends. Heaven has truly gained an Angel. 🙏🏻

I had the distinguished pleasure to have known Andrew for many years as  we worked closely together in 2 very important and difficult projects in which we learned a lot not only about the project but of each other …. Andrew  grew to learn very quickly all aspects of construction to the point he became a General Contractor and in working with him I learned what a wonderful thoughtful and caring person he was not only to me but to all!!! … It is with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye to my buddy but knowing we will meet again.
Not only my family loved him but everyone he touched with his smile also loved him….my deepest sympathies goes to Ernie and Magaly as well as his whole family and friends he will be greatly missed.

Andrew was my little cousin and my buddy at work.  He brought a new light into our office when he started a year ago embarking on the next chapter of his career.   He learned so much in such a short time and was making everyone proud.  Andrew knew how to focus on the big picture of life being a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.   He disconnected through his hobbies of being in the outdoors, archery and cars(especially F1).   We are all going to miss my Primoooo (as he would say), very much.  We are all heartbroken as he is gone way too soon but blessed to have had him in our lives.  His love and kindness were contagious. May we all be a little more like Andrew.
