Alberto Martinez Arizala, at age 97, passed away peacefully at home on 10/08/21, next to Zenaida, his wife of over 70 years. He died from complications sustained after a recent hospitalization. He is survived by his wife Zenaida, his sisters Gladys (Rocafort), Norma, and Silvia, his sons Alberto, Eduardo, and Alex, and his daughter Gloria. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was born in Havana on 12/11/1923, but his birth certificate was issued with the wrong date. He graduated from the Law School at the Universidad de la Habana and practiced law and taught university courses until 1961 when he had to leave his beloved Cuba. He settled with his family in Puerto Rico, which became his "segunda patria." Soon after arriving in 1962, he published "Un Infierno Rojo en el Caribe” detailing the tyrannical regime that had taken over the island. In Puerto Rico he established Publish Records Service, which was a highly innovative enterprise. He retired in 1992 and moved to Miami to be close to the rest of his family. He was the quintessential entertainer delighting all with his stories and with his appearances at La Rosa and El Rinconcito Cubano restaurants on Sundays to play the piano.
