Gonzalez, Alberto Felix, born in Havana, Cuba, on May 5, 1936, to Felix and Isabel Gonzalez, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the age of 80. He passed peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. He is mourned by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Teresa; his son, Carlos Alberto (Amy) and daughter, Maribel; his grandsons, Michael (Rachelle) and Bryan; and great-granddaughter, Madison.
Alberto was a deeply religious man, stemming from his childhood formative schooling as a Marist Brother (LaVibora). He remained in close contact with fellow Marist Brothers throughout the years, often meeting (once a week) for lunch. He was known for his great love of family, sense of humor, and most especially, for being the master at dominoes. He enjoyed reading, traveling, the beach, and watching sports. In addition, Alberto worked many years in the wine/beverage industry and thus became a connoisseur of all things, wine and spirits.
We are all eternally grateful for having had this wonderful being in our lives. May God bless him always. We will forever miss our “Papi”, “Pipo” and “Welo.”
A memorial mass will be held at Saint Brendan Catholic Church, 8725 SW 32nd Street, on Monday, April 10th, at 10:30 am, followed by a burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
