Mr. Troy John Martinez

Troy John Martinez (born November 28, 1956) was a native and life long resident of New Orleans who passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. Troy was a graduate of Bonnabel High School “Bruins” in 1974 and graduated with his Bachelors Degree at Nicholl’s State University in 1979, where he played football for both. He retired from Continental/ United Airlines after 34 amazing years. He was a true and loyal friend who was always the life of the party. A light hearted sense of humor and a shining light in any and every room he walked into. He was a music/movie enthusiast, food entrepreneur, world-traveler, peacemaker, water loving, and die hard New Orleans Saints fan with season tickets since 1970.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patti” Ann Carlone Martinez (41 years of marriage) his sons Trey Martinez and Ryan Martinez (Czia) and daughter Reanna Martinez. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Armand “AJ” Martinez and Beverly Barbetta Martinez and infant son Tory Martinez. His siblings; Melissa Milano (John), Desiree Nette (John), Wesley Martinez (Christina), and his nieces and nephews: Josh Nette, Amanda Jewel (Patrick), Matthew Nette, Michael Milano (Rebecca), Abigail Nette (Godchild), and Scott Martinez. His great nephews, Aiden Nette, Atticus and Roman Jewell.

On Saturday, July 27, 2024 there will be visitation at St. Joseph’s Church (1802 Tulane Ave, New Orleans, LA 70112) from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM, a mass 10:30 AM-11:30 AM, followed by the burial service at Garden of Memories (4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70001). Saints attire (Black and Gold colors) are preferred, but not required.
