

Stanley Joseph Bordelon, Sr. passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Lily Theresa Bordelon to whom he was blessed with 54 years of sacred marriage. Loving father of Ramona B. Fogarty (and husband, John), Cindy B. Mitchell (and husband, Eric), Stanley J. Bordelon, Jr. (and wife, BernaDean) and Vicky A. Bordelon. Proud grandfather of Lauren Woitha (and husband, Evan) Reneé, Jason Fogarty and Stacey Halphen (and husband, Andrew) and great grandfather of William Halphen. Son of the late Florence and Voorhies Bordelon. Brother of the late Wallace Bordelon, Jimmie Bordelon, Betty Burke, Ollie Meaux and Warren Bordelon. Also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Stanley was a veteran of the U. S Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War and many years following the war and was former parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. The family would like to express a special heartfelt “Thank You” to Raquel Randazzo, Norma Crockett and Nancy Weaver for the love and care that they provided to him. Stanley was a native of Marksville, Louisiana, and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana, for the past 65 years. He was retired from the American Can Company and United Cab. He and Lily loved traveling all across America, from Canada to Las Vegas to Alaska to New York spending time with their family and friends. He also LOVED visiting Casino’s, Cajun and Country music and dancing with Lily. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was “Numbers” man and Craps was his game! He was a sports enthusiast and loved watching anything with a “Ball”! And for all that know him well, he was a “Transportation Engineer” and will be sadly missed! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd. (near Clearview Pkwy.) in Metairie, on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
