Sidney Godson Roberts Sr.

Sidney G. Roberts, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2012 with his beloved wife of 62 years, Thelma, by his side. He is also survived by his son, Sidney G. Roberts, Jr., granddaughter, Jinger Phillips (Donny) and three great-granddaughters, Jaclyn, Jessica and Danielle. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nash, Jr., Wallace, Clifford and Arthur. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA for 47 years. Sidney enlisted into the US Army and served in World War II. He retired after 20 years from Pan Am Airlines and was a dedicated member of the Good Ole’ Metry Boys Club.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Sidney’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Rd., New Orleans, LA 70121.
