Russell Thomas Howley, former member of the Navy Helicopter Squad of the Naval Air Reserve, passed away peacefully at his home on May 2, 2016 after his courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 13, 1942, in New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 51 years. Husband of Mary Catherine Prima Howley, father of David Howley (Colleen) and deceased baby daughter Mary Lynn Howley. Son of the late Helen Howley and Edward T. Howley, Sr. and brother of the late Edward T. Howley, Jr. He leaves cherished memories to this wife Mary, son David, daughter-in-law Colleen, brother-in-law Richard Prima and wife Linda, cousins Anne Culotta and Lizzie Mumme, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was an active parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and National Shrine and was involved in various ministries of the parish. He was recipient of the Order of St. Louis. Graduate of St. Aloysius High School, co-owner of R&H Electric and retired employee of H. Rocker Electric. Visitation will be held at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Dr. in Metairie on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm.
