Ronald Allen Smythe

He was born February 28, 1958 in New Olreans, La.

Ronnie is the beloved son of Peter and Josephine Gunter Gurtner, and was one of 5 children.

Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1975-1979 and was stationed in Hawaii and California. He worked the majority of his life as a machinist in the Greater New Orleans area, and thoroughly enjoyed football as a lifelong Saints fan, and was an avid fisherman.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Tami Smythe Dietrich (Damien), 2 grandchildren, Dawson and Amelia, his older brother, Rick Smythe, and his 3 sisters, Susan Culver (Charles), Debbie Smythe, and Joanne Loyocano.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, La. at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date.
