Ronald John Marchand, 62, a native of New Orleans, beloved husband of Karen Lankston White Marchand for 22 years, was called to heaven on March 20, 2010. Ronald was preceded in death by his sister Helen Jane Foster in 2004 and his father Rivers John Marchand in June of 2008. Ronald J. Marchand is survived by his mother, Helen Roth Burke of Picayune, MS and his son, Ryan John Marchand (wife, Anne) of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Gladys Core, Anne Marchand, Mary Marchand, Gay Redlier and Rivette Hill; his wife's children, Lynn Spille of Tallahassee, FL, Jennifer Hayes of Robinson, IL, Dawn Brown of Denham Springs, LA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ron Marchand graduated from De LaSalle High School in New Orleans on May 26, 1965. He graduated LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology on January 26, 1970. After college, he was drafted into the US Army and served from 1970¬ to 1972. He spent most of his tour in Okinawa, Japan, performing radar surveillance for the US Air Force. In his civilian years Ronald worked for his family business and studied computer programming, gaining a detailed knowledge of various software languages. He was a very skilled cook and greatly enjoyed preparing meals for gatherings of friends and family. Ron was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kenner, LA and was very fond of his extended church family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Church on Wednesday, March 24th, visitation from11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a service to follow. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1001 W. Esplanade Ave, Kenner, LA 70065. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
