Robert Alan Leeson

Robert Alan Leeson passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at the age of 89 years. He was born in Buffalo, New York, by Gladys Klehn Leeson and Arthur Henry Leeson. He and his family resided in New York, Florida, and Georgia prior to settling in New Orleans, LA in 1965. They remained there ever since. He attended the University of Buffalo and the University of Miami. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Leeson Morgan; brother, Gerald Arthur Leeson; and niece, Kaaran Leeson Ursery (Phillip). He was married to Donna Vanderheiden Leeson and they were to celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary on November 6th, 2017. Robert was known by his friends as Bob and retired from Domino Sugar Co. / Amstar Corp. as a Regional Sales Manager in 1992. He enjoyed fine dining with his wife and family. Golf was his main hobby after retiring. He played on many famous golf courses around the world. He was happy to have played Pebble Beach and only needed one ball for the entire round, he played the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland, played Doral, and others. He had been a member of Hermes for a number of years and a Duke in Iris when his wife was a Maid in Iris. He and his wife were very active in their AARP Chapter for many years. He held several officer positions in the organization and also did their newsletter for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna V. Leeson; sons, Robert Alan Leeson, Jr. and Jeffry Arthur Leeson, DDS (Pamela); and grandsons (sons of the late Martha Leeson Morgan (Matthew) ), Matthew Christian Morgan, Daniel Leeson Morgan, Patrick Joseph Morgan, and Charles William Morgan.
