Richard Tatterson Osborne, Jr passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was 89 years old and was born on October 8, 1928 in Norfolk, Va. Richard, also known as Lefty and Buddy by relatives, is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Whichard Osborne. Richard is the son of the late Richard Tatterson Osborne, Sr of Norfolk, Va and Georgia Hudgens Osborne of Mathews, Va. He is survived by two sisters in North Carolina, Anne Osborne Shoe and Jean Osborne Curlee. Richard is also survived by his two daughters Sharon Osborne Black (Michael) and Lisa Osborne Bertucci (Ronald), six grandchildren Brandon Alford, Lindsay Whitley (Ian), Zachary Parker (Angela), Sara Bertucci, Alex Bertucci and Sean Black. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Luca Parker, Elias Parker and Adie Whitley as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong friend of Mack Vernon Furlow of Indianapolis, IN and enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his good friend Carl Goodrum of St Louis, Mo. Richard was a homebuilder/contractor for many years in Metairie, La with Classic Homes and Dick Osborne, Inc. After he retired from contracting, Richard worked at Avis Car Rental until he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kenner for over 50 years where he served as an usher. He served in the US Army June 1947 to December 1948. He was a diehard Detroit Tiger Baseball Team Fan and a New Orleans Saints fan since the inception of the team. He enjoyed playing and coaching Softball, bowled in many leagues, and in later years enjoyed playing golf at Riverlands Country Club in Laplace, La where he proudly hit a hole in one! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday afternoon, December 2, 2017 at 1:00.
