Richard P. Arcement Sr., aged 78, passed away suddenly on the evening of October 1, 2022, from the complications of rebound covid and pneumonia. Born September 25, 1944, in Gretna, Louisiana, he was the second child of four children of the late Earl and Edna Arcement.
Richard P. Arcement Sr. is survived by his loving wife Lynda Arcement of 51 years; his children: Kristi Arcement, Richard Arcement Jr., Katherine Arcement, daughter-in-law Beth Anne Arcement and granddaughter Victoria Arcement. Richard was the loving brother to his surviving siblings, Mary-Earl Guidry, Kenneth Arcement, and Sharon Coulon.
He was a graduate of West Jefferson High school. He has been a devoted Catholic since early age going to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gretna, La, and for the past twenty years to Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Kenner, La. He went to every catholic mass and ate seafood every Friday.
Richard P. Arcement Sr. was a shoe salesman for Baker Shoes, a welder at Avondale shipyards, a salesman for Southern Merchandise owned by his late father-in-law Martin Williams, a salesman for Hartz Mountain Pet supplies, a salesman for Blue Carpet Cleaners, and a retired salesman from French Market Coffee. He was a respected and hardworking salesman to all his clients and the local Greater New Orleans Area restaurants. Since he retired, he loved to spend his mornings with his devoted friends at the coffee shop talking and laughing and trying to solve the world’s problems.
He will be remembered for his loving heart, kindness, and friendship to all people and animals, quirky sense of humor, love for Louisiana Cajun Cuisine, and storytelling advice. He will be genuinely missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM with a blessing to begin at 11AM.
