Raymond Stanley Olivier

Raymond Stanley Olivier, age 88, went to join his mother on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016. Beloved husband of Theodora “Cookie” Olivier for 61 years. Loving father of Raymond Olivier, Jr. (Sharon), Sissy Haffner (Richard), Iona Dargis (Stephen) and Glenn Olivier. Proud grandfather of Ashleigh Olivier, Heather Stephens (Ernie), Stacy DiCrispino, Jessica Maloney (Jason), Ed Keenan Jr. (Tiffany Brand), Jacob Haffner, Jessica Dargis (Chris Paddock), Stephen Dargis Jr., Hayley Olivier and Amy Olivier. Great grandfather of Sydney Rae Stephens and Maci Stephens. Son of the late Henry and Rita Baudier Olivier and greatly loved by his in-laws Iona and Ted Swan. Brother of the late Rita Schexnayder (Earl), Henry Olivier (Wilda, Diane), Marion Olivier (Sidona), Leslie Olivier (Marian) and Lawrence Olivier (Elva). He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and close friends to cherish his memory.

Raymond was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. Member of the Knights of Columbus for Council 714 for 20 years and Council 3729 for 5 years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling but most of all spending time with his family and his annual Christmas Party. For over 50 years he managed the Swan Apartments.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the evening Wake at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Friday morning, May 13 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Ann Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Dr. at 12:30 pm with the interment immediately following at Lakelawn Park and Mausoleum.
