Paula Lipani Richard

Paula Lipani Richard, age 80, of Metairie, LA passed away with her children by her side on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Paula was born on April 19, 1944, in New Orleans, LA to the late Paul Anthony Lipani and Edna Louise Mohr Lipani. Paula graduated from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School and Mt. Carmel Academy in New Orleans, LA. After high school, she attended St. Mary's Dominican College. Throughout her career, she worked as a bookkeeper for Oreck Corporation, the New Orleans Steamship Association, and MetLife Insurance Co. Along with being a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family, Paula enjoyed watching and supporting her New Orleans Saints, she was a wonderful cook and baker, and enjoyed reading novels.

Paula was preceded in death by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert Owen Richard and her sister, Frances Lipani Hornung (the late Stanley).

Survivors include her loving children, Robin Richard Rupp (Billy), Anthony Louis Richard (Stephanie), and Kristin Richard Kobrock (Chris); grandchildren, Emily Richard Johnson (Lloyd), William Joseph "Joey" Rupp, IV, Robert Owen Richard, II (Alexa), Carly Theresa Kobrock, Brooke Elise Richard, Jenna Elisabeth Kobrock, Ava Claire Richard, Sofia Christian Kobrock, and Erica Sidney Kobrock; great grandchildren, Kennedy Adair Johnson and Liam Murphy Richard; and her sister, Darlene Lipani Cambra (Jimmy). Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 9:00am - 11:00am. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00am.
