Mildred Marie Rocker Tate Lipps

Mildred Marie Rocker Tate Lipps passed away peacefully in her home in Dickinson, Texas on Monday, October 12, 2015. She was 89 years old. Loving wife of the late James Ralph Lipps, who passed away in 1999. She was previously married to Thomas Edgar Tate Sr., who passed away in 1975. Loving mother of Kathleen Nora Tate Speegle (Michael Ross), John Michael Tate (Connie Stailey), and the late Thomas E. Tate, Jr. (Merceded Cisneros). Grandmother of Kenneth Edward Tate, Andrew Henry Tate (Anjanette), Jennifer Tate Wisener (Atticus), Michael Thomas Tate (Kim), Kim Marie Speegle, and Michael Ryan Speegle (Amanda). Great-grandmother of Holden Wisener, Barret Wisener, Dylan Wisener, Isadora Tate, Anderson Tate, Inessa Tate, Ariston Tate, and Miller Speegle. Mildred was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 25, 1926. She lived a long wonderful life filled with love from family & friends. She was a New Orleans lady that loved to entertain with a flare. She loved to dance, play bridge & travel with many life-long friends. Her children & grandchildren were so dear to her. The whole family gathered every year for beach-house reunions in the summer & Christmas reunions. She showered our family with her warm love. She has always been known for her wonderful contagious laughter. She was a devout Catholic, 3rd order Carmelite, senior of the year at her parish many years ago. She passed on her love for God to all the family. We know she is dancing in heaven! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from ST. RITA, 7100 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, on Monday morning, October 19, 2015 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 10:00 in church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, Metairie.
