Mary Zuberbier Wilson, a longtime resident of Harahan, La. and later St. Tammany Parish, died peacefully on September 28, 2023, at the age of 86. She was laid to rest in Lakelawn Mausoleum on October 9, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father Otto Zuberbier and her mother Mary Helmer Zuberbier. She is survived by her five children Debra Pierce, Kim Tingle, Linda West, Beth White, and Darrick Wilson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren (Amanda, Allison, Gerald, Brandie, Alexis, Krystal, Keri, and Evangeline), and twelve great-grandchildren (Maddox, McKenna, Jacob, Mia, Michael, Paris, Alona, Juliet, Gavin, Laela, Brooklyn and Caroline).
Mary was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and also a devoted supporter of the quintessential New Orleans party, Mardi Gras. She reigned as Queen of the Krewe of Noblads in 1976 and in 1980 as Queen Aquila IV. She was a vital part of many companies, most notably Masters, Mates and Pilots, St. Paul Insurance, and Gilsbar Insurance. She enjoyed gardening and traveling and other than the birth of her children, she was never happier than on February 7, 2010, when her beloved Saints finally did what she feared would never happen and won their only Super Bowl, led by her favorite player Drew Brees.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
