Marion Lewis Young

Our beloved matriarch, Marion Lewis Young transitioned to be with our Lord on August 14, 2023, at age 81. Born April 6, 1942, in Ironton, LA, the 2nd of 15 children to the late Albert Sr. and Theresa Lewis. She attended Rivers Frederick School in the 1950s and worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Marion was a dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints & enjoyed music, cooking gumbo & spending time with family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Douglas Young; son, Douglas Lewis; and grandsons Ivan Lewis Sr. and Waldell Warren; siblings: Albert Jr., Floyd, Anthony, Gloria, Leola, Maxine, Carol, Eric, and Clifford Lewis. She is survived by her siblings: Janova Lewis Jackson, Terry, Edward, Joseph, and Donna Lewis; children: Annetta (Aaron) Spurlock, and Sandra Lewis; grandchildren, Tomeka (Alan) Marse, Nikita (DeAngelo) Johnson, Dazzie, Lynette, Asionna, Alisha and Ty Lewis; great-grandchildren; Andre Steptore Jr., Walter Warren III, Ivan Lewis Jr., Alex Marse, Jamel, Jalen, and Jamarii Lewis, Samiyah Tervalon and expecting Janiyah Gentris; great-great grandchildren: Aairyana Preston and Andrea Steptore; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend services on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on September 1, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
