Marie Louise Powers

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Paul G. Powers Sr., their children, Paul G. Powers Jr. and Marian P. Powers, her parents, Frank Louis Burg Sr. and Margaret Daisy Powers Burg, and siblings, Mary Thelma Haeuser, Ashton J. Burg, John P. Burg, Frank L. Burg Jr, Gerard J. Burg, Margaret Patty Deroche, and Jane A. Reese,. Also by her loving friend of over twenty years, Earl L. Messmer.

She is survived by her children, Susan Reynolds (the late Travis), Peggy Mitchell (Lynn), Mary Lou Chierici (Gene), Tim Powers (Janie), and Richard Powers (Linda) and sister-in-law, Thelma Burg. She was from a very large and loving family that is left to remember and pray for her. She’ll be missed by all her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a loyal and faithful servant of God for her entire life. She was a long-time parishioner of Sts Peter and Paul and St Edward the Confessor. She was a graduate of Sts Peter and Paul and Holy Angels Academy. She worked for many years at AT&T, was an avid gardener, and loved to dance.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at St Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 4921 W. Metairie Ave. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 10AM -12PM with a Mass to begin at 12PM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
