Maria Coronado Reyes

Maria Coronado Reyes passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 97. She was born in Guatemala and later moved to New Orleans with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ricardo Rivera; her daughter Maria Johnson; and her five siblings, Sofia, Catalina, Julia, Juan, and Miguel. She is survived by her three daughters, Elsa Rivera, Erica Sutton (Steve), and Alicia Torres (Hector); her eight grandchildren; and her fourteen great-grandchildren. She was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who cherished her family and friends.

She was very devoted to her Christian faith and was always active in her Adventist church community, where she felt loved and respected by all. She loved her church dearly until her last day.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Iglesia Adventista Constructora de Fe, 123 N. Lester Ave, Metairie, LA 70003, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. Patrick #1 Cemetery, New Orleans.
