Mr. Lawrence Ellis Tate was born on August 20, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Mr. Ollie Tate and Lorene Leaper Tate of Columbus Georgia. Mr. Tate lived in Houston, Texas for many years as his home. He served in the United States Navy and graduated from Delgado College.
Mr. Tate was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Tate and three brothers, Johnny, Chris, and Nathaniel Tate.
Mr. Tate leaves to cherish his most precious memories, his two sons and their wives, Mr. Jaibar Kareem Tate and Wife, Nicole A. Tate of Baltimore Maryland; and Jevon Michael Tate and wife Batney O. Tate of Houston Texas; three brothers, Zelvade, Walter and Ronald Tate (Columbus GA); four sisters, Mary Leaper, Gloria Selmon, Darlene Tate of New Orleans LA and Priscilla Foster (Atlanta GA); two sister-in-laws, Brigitte Tate (Columbus GA) and Brenda Tate (New Orleans LA); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends. Lawrence Tate will truly be missed by everyone. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11am at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd in Metairie, with visitation starting at 9.
