Lawrence James Blanchard

Lawrence J. Blanchard passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Jefferson on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the age of 86. A native of Assumption Parish and long time resident of Jefferson Parish. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lorraine Marchand Blanchard; his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Blanchard of Thibodaux, LA and a grandson, Jason Dove. He is survived by his 3 children: Monica Mouchon, Kirk Blanchard and Roxanne Beard (Michael) and 4 grandchildren: John Mouchon, Jr., Aimee Parsons (Alex), Christopher Blanchard (Clara) and Julie DiGiovanni (Augie). He also leaves 2 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth DiGiovanni and Vivienne Parsons.

A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 3310 Jefferson Hwy. in Jefferson. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux at 1:45 pm.
