.Joseph P. Leto, Jr., age 84, left us on Saturday February 18, 2017. He was a native of Independence, LA and a resident of River Ridge, LA. Beloved companion of the late Janet Mauer. Close friend of Kristian Mauer and Mitch Carter. Son of the late Joseph P. Leto, Sr. and Annie Costa Leto. Father of Mitch Leto. Brother of the late Frances Rocha. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Mr. Leto was a retired general contractor, was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War and was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in River Ridge, LA. Graveside services and interment will be held at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, LA on Friday morning, February 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
