John William Norwood Jr.

John William "Buck" Norwood, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Etta Mae Courtney. He was born March 19, 1927 in Silver Creek, MS to John W. Norwood, Sr., and Ira Caldonia "Donnie" Carter Norwood. Survived by his two sons John W. Norwood, III (Kay) and James Norwood, his grandchildren Christi A. Honeman (David), Michelle L. Norwood, Johnny Norwood (Tiffany), Natalie Norwood Fernandez (Mark), Great Grandchildren, Kristiana Norwood, Aaron Norwood, Daria McGonegal, Jack Norwood, Brody Fernandez and Camille Norwood. Great Grandchildren, Zoie, A.J., and Gage, his sister Johnnie Norwood Gilcrease, his nieces Connie Kahoe, Linda Squatrito and Sabrina Treolar, his nephews David Courtney and Joe Squatrito. He is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Special thanks to his caregivers Charlotte Cavanaugh, Lucy Chreiton, Julie Collins, Bob Fonseca and Josie Jones and to The Staff at the Carpenter House.

A visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 pm in the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Hollywood Cemetery, 900 Pennsylvania Avenue, McComb, Mississippi at 11:00 am.
