John Edwin Gauci

John Edwin Gauci passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Annie “Becky” Tillman Gauci for 49 years, father of Deborah Gauci Sommers (Brian) and Paul William Gauci. He was the grandfather of Joshua, Stephanie, and Lindsey Sommers, uncle of Donald Gauci - great uncle of Mary Kathryn, Michael, and Jonathan Gauci, uncle of Samantha Tillman, uncle of Sarah Jane Daigle - great uncle of Zoey and Alexander Stubbs, uncle of Chad Daigle (Laura) – great uncle of Adelyne Daigle, brother-in-law of Eugene William Tillman III, and Goldie Tillman Kelley (Fran).

He was preceded in death by his mother Gladys Davies Gauci, father Charles Anthony Gauci, uncle Rt. Reverend Monsignor Paul J. Gauci, brother Charles Michael Gauci, and brother-in-law George Russell Tillman.

He was a native of New Orleans. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Seminary College, attended Notre Dame Seminary, and then graduated from Loyola University. He was an early pioneer in the field of business computing and spent his career implementing and supporting computer systems for various companies. He retired from Gulf Systems, Inc. where he worked as a systems analyst and comptroller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Joseph’s Abbey and Seminary College. John’s devotion to his family and friends will be missed by all.
