John Frederick “Jack” Baltz, 77, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2022 at his home in Venetian Isles. Jack was born on July 3, 1944 in New Orleans to his loving parents, the late John Peter Baltz, Jr. and Elaine Rodi Baltz.
Jack is survived by his three children, Bret Anthony Baltz, Iris “Lainey” Baltz Margavio (Todd) and John Jacob Baltz (Natalie); his sister, Barbara Morere; his dedicated former spouse and lifelong best friend, Patricia Pemberton Baltz and three stepchildren, Eddie Pemberton (Marie), Shannon Eustis (Ryan) and Brett Pemberton (Amy). Paw-Paw Jack is also survived by his grandchildren whom he adored: Brooke Baltz (David); Zachary, Andrew and Laken Margavio; Jenna and Jacob Baltz, Jr.; Danielle, Cody and Travis; Hannah, Hayden, Maddie, Jackson and Ashley, Alyssa, Brett Jr. and Amelia along with his nephew, Marshal Morere.
Jack grew up in Lakeview and attended St. Dominic School and graduated from Warren Easton High School. He had a love for baseball, ping-pong and the outdoors. After graduating from high school, Jack found his career as a process operator at Shell Norco where he worked for 30 plus years before retiring to enjoy his true passion as a fisherman. He loved to trawl for shrimp and be out on his boat. He also loved spending time with family, and never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren in all their activities. He will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
