Joe Tusa

Joe Tusa was born on January 29, 1942 and passed away on November 22, 2017. Known for his generosity, Joe redefined what it meant to be a family man. His family extended much further than just relatives. All of his families ¬– his Redemptorist family, his McDermott family, his New Iberia family, and his various barroom families – and friends are invited to celebrate Joe’s life on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Leitz-Eagan in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and a Mass will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery No. 2, New Orleans. After the burial, glasses will be raised at BJ’s (corner of Burgundy and Lessepes). Joe leaves behind his life partner for the past 20 years, Miss Diane Barnes; daughter, Toni Tusa Spahn; son, Mark Tusa (Jan); grandchildren, Mallory, Mason, Kathryn, and Jacob; brother, Robert Tusa; and his extended family; Gary, Salty, Bob, Carola, and Gabrielle.
