Joan Claire Morel Kieran

Joan Claire Morel Kieran went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 11, 2023, two days shy of her 88th birthday. She was born in New Orleans and lived the majority of her life in Metairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenix P. Morel and Audrey Claire Durel Morel; her son, John Joseph Kieran III and grandson, John Joseph Kieran IV. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, John Joseph Kieran Jr.; sons, Kenneth Michael Flynn (Brenda) and David Michael Kieran; daughter, Kelley Claire Kieran Savoie (Fred); brother, Leonard P. Morel (Helen) and sister, Suzanne Claire Morel Hammond (the late James), 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. She graduated from John McDonogh High School and worked briefly in finance before raising her children. Joan loved music and singing and sharing her testimony about how she came to know Jesus after a horrific accident resulting in the loss of her leg. She lived an incredible life of overcoming obstacles and never losing faith. We are so blessed to have had her as our own. She was our miracle. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Kenner, 1400 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 19th with visitation at 2:00 PM.
