Gerald (Gerry) F. Burnsed, age 80, of River Ridge, LA, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at East Jefferson Hospital following complications of heart surgery. Gerry was born in Roxton, Texas to the late Fenton and Mary Beaver Burnsed on September 16, 1931. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Pan Burnsed (his high school sweetheart); three sons, David K. Burnsed (Chris) of Houston, Texas, Terry Burnsed, PhD of Denver, Colorado and David M. Dadukian (Bianka) of Metairie, Louisiana; one sister, Pat Dumas (Leonard) of Marshall, Texas; a sister-in-law, Sara Chism Collins (Jim) of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Gerry served proudly in the United States Air Force Intelligence Division. He was an active member in numerous civic, political and carnival associations. Following college graduation, he began his career as an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses in the sales and service industries. He will always be remembered for his wit, friendship, love and kindnesses. Gerry was an avid golfer and a celebration of his life will be held at Chateau Golf and Country Club at a later date to be announced.
