Gail Patterson Douglas, born June 24, 1945, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of 46 years of William "Bill" Charles Douglas and mother of William Charles Douglas, Jr. (Michelle) and Michael Landan Douglas, was preceded in death by her parents William H. Patterson and Willie Bagents Patterson, and by her brother, William Albright "Pat" Patterson. She was a graduate of University High School in Baton Rouge and Northwestern State University in Nachitoches, Louisiana. Gail spent the majority of her life as a resident of Kenner and most recently she was a resident of Ormond Estates in Destrehan. She served on the Board of Driftwood Park Country Club and the Driftwood Park Civic Association and she enjoyed volunteering at the Ormond Nursing and Care Center. Gail was once an avid tennis player and had a love for her family and friends, her cats, and her three exotic birds. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie, LA on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 1 PM. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM and on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
