Mr. Frank Edward Ritter

Frank Edward Ritter passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the age of 96. He is survived by his devoted daughters Judy A. Ritter and Shirley M. Ritter and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Marguerite Hudson Ritter, his parents Luther Rudolph Ritter and Louise Heinis Ritter, his brothers Joseph (Mandy) Ritter, Clarence (Dutch) Ritter, Harold Ritter, and Roy Ritter, and his sister Louise Naumann. Frank was a lifelong resident of Old Jefferson. He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Loyola University. In 1980 after 44 years, he retired from Continental Can Company. Frank enjoyed music, meeting people, walking, and all sports, especially baseball. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of St. John Golf Club. His quick wit, great sense of humor, outgoing personality, and devotion to his family make him a man to be admired and respected. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughters. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend services at 12 noon on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. Interment will be in Garden of Memories. The family would appreciate contributions to the American Heart Association in Frank’s memory.
