Florence “Connie” Morel Lorino passed away on July 3rd, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born on December 20th, 1925 in New Roads, Louisiana to John and Lillian Morel. Connie attended St. Joseph’s Academy in New Roads and a received a nursing degree from Charity Hospital School of Nursing. Connie was a proud nurse, who devoted her life to helping others throughout her career. She did volunteer nursing during World War II and worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Connie lived most of her adult life with her sister Lillian “Bootsie” Wusthoff and her nieces and nephews as part of the Wusthoff family, who will fondly remember their time spent with her. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Peter V. Lorino. They were happily married for 18 years and enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends. Connie was a humble, generous, and loving sister, wife, aunt, and nurse. In her senior years, Connie remained happy and positive, though she struggled with dementia. She will be missed and remembered for the purity of her life, her loving kindness, and her uplifting spirit. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter V. Lorino, her parents, and three sisters, Lillian Wusthoff, Lorraine Lanehart, and Anne Crosby. Connie is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Jefferson Healthcare for all of the kindness they showed Connie during her time there. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside prayer service at the mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, July 10th at 9:30 AM.
