Ernest John Munster I

Ernest John Munster I, passed away surrounded by his sister Emily Guercio, brother Malcom Munster, and son Ernest John Munster II on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born to his parents, the late Christine Van Vrancken and Ernest Peter Munster, Jr. and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he worked on the New Orleans Riverfront.

Ernest is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Begeman Munster of 21 years and his brother John Elvin Munster Sr.

He is survived by his daughter Cherie Munster of Covington, Louisiana, his son Ernest John Munster II of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his sister Emily Guercio and brother Malcom Peter Munster, his granddaughter Dianthe’ Lyn Rose and two great grandsons Nathaniel Paul Stagg and Brody David Rose. Stepfather to Rhonda Sessum Breaux and Steven J. Sessum, Sr. and step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ernest enjoyed with his wife, family and friends traveling the world by cruise ships, being a member of Linn Wood-Ionic Lodge No. 167, F.& A.M., Farhad Grotto – M.O.V.P.E.R., Past President Klown Unit of Farhad Grotto, Thoth Carnival Club, and Lyons Carnival Marching Club.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Good Shepherd Church located at 5122 West Esplanade Ave., Metairie, LA 70006 on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service starting at 12:15.
