Ellen Coates Hoffmann, 42, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Bay St. Louis. Ellen was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, a resident of Bay St. Louis for 19 years, a graduate of St. James Major High School and University of New Orleans, LA, Board Member of the Boy's & Girls Club, member of Zoo Krewe of New Orleans, LA., Human Resource Manager of the Silver Slipper Casino, Co-Chairperson of the American Cancer Society, cheerleader coach for Bay - Waveland Football for years, Bay High Steppers mom and active in all the activities. She was an inspration to so many and will be sadly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Barney William & Ellen "Mi Mi" Johnson. Survived by her loving and caring husband of 20 years, Wayne J. Hoffmann, son, Wayne J. "Joe Joe" Hoffmann, two daughters, Adele L. Hoffmann and Alexis M. Hoffmann all of Bay St. Louis, MS; parents, Adele & George "Pop" Mendel of New Orleans, LA; father, Charles Coates, Jr., of Metairie, LA; two brothers, Charles "Bustie" Coates, III of Abita Springs, LA; and Chris Mendel of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Tammy L. Sigsworth of Bay St. Louis, MS; and Sheri Schmid (Bill) of Gulfport, MS; In-Laws, Warren F. & Willie Hoffmann, Jr. of Slidell, LA; and a host of nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, friends may call after 10:00 am. Interment will be at Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
